Credit unions have been around for a long time, but we still get asked quite frequently about the differences between a credit union and a bank. If you are new to credit unions, or maybe have heard about them but didn't know what they were, then this information is for you.
This past Friday, US Community Credit Union was honored to participate in a "Gas Mob" helping to spread the word of the credit union movement. A total of $2,500 in FREE gas was awarded to 100 individuals. We were excited to get to speak to each of these individuals, telling them about the benefits credit unions offer compared to other financial institutions and payday lenders.
It's never too early to start teaching kids about financial responsibility. US Community Credit Union believes learning to save and manage money is important, and is focused on teaching these needed life skills to the youth in our local schools.

On Friday May 30th, USCCU received honorable mention for the Mayor's Award at the Pencil Foundation Bravo luncheon. This award was for our outstanding partnership with McGavock High School and our student run branch inside the school.
