USCCU Wins MNPS Business Partner of the Year

USCCU was recently awarded the 2014 Academies of Nashville Business Partner of the Year in the Business, Marketing, and IT pathway. As a business partner at McGavock High School, we engage students through internships, job shadow experiences, and classroom presentations. The internships and hands on training are a key process to the professional development of our student financial service representatives. USCCU representatives give classroom presentations on topics such as building credit, establishing a budget, and introducing the McGavock Savings Plan (designed to help students save for their senior year). In November 2013, four of our bilingual students presented to credit union executives from Ecuador during their trip to Nashville. The highlight of our partnership this year was creating a commercial to showcase our academy and educate the public about the McGavock Student Run Branch. We are so proud of the achievements of the young men and women at McGavock High School!
